Head Teachers Welcome
“Training children to be confident, independent learners with enquiring minds, a life-long love of learning and an approach to life that reflects core biblical values and principles.”
Welcome to St. Margaret’s Church of England Primary School
Whether you are a current pupil, parent, staff member, or considering St. Margaret’s for your child’s education – a very warm welcome to you!
St. Margaret’s C of E Primary is located in the heart of Barking and is proud to be part of the Diocese of Chelmsford and the Genesis Education Trust (Registration No: 10653595). The Trust is a collaboration between St Mary’s, St Saviour’s and St Margaret’s – together forming an Independent Church Multi-Academy Trust. Genesis Education Trust.
Our mission, rooted in Proverbs 22:6, is central to everything we do.
At St. Margaret’s, we are passionate about nurturing confident, independent learners who feel empowered to follow their curiosity, learn from their mistakes, and embrace new ways of thinking. We believe this approach inspires our pupils to become life-long learners who thrive in whatever path they choose.
As a school, we are committed to continual learning – not just for our pupils, but for our staff too. We invest significantly in professional development to ensure our team is well-equipped to deliver an excellent education every single day.
St. Margaret’s also maintains a vibrant connection with our local church and the wider community. As a church school, our Christian ethos is expressed in practical, meaningful ways that aim to make a real difference.
While our school community includes a range of beliefs and backgrounds, we ask that everyone understands and supports the values we uphold. These values – love, joy, patience, kindness, and self-control – were chosen by pupils, parents, staff, and governors. They define how we do things at St. Margaret’s and guide the way we treat one another, both in policy and in everyday life.
These values are not just something adults teach children – they are something every member of our community lives out, together.
Thank you for visiting our website. I hope you find all the information you need and share in our joy as we celebrate the successes of our school. For ease of reference, I have attached our latest Ofsted report from March 2025. If you would like to know more, please do not hesitate to contact us – I would be delighted to show you around.
Warm regards,
Mrs S. Bannon
